i want santa to get me a tablet and the appropriate tools to start doing some computer sketching and graphics. i'm not sure whats better illustrator or photoshop, or what versions, or maybe theres some kind of software i don't even know about that is better. which is easier to learn? what kind of tablet should i get? any other thoughts? help?
(i have an apple macbook pro if that changes any advice)

you can torrent the creative suite for free. if you go to the adobe website and download the trial versions of ps and ai i can email you the crack program. really easy only hard part is waiting for the programs to actually download to your computer.
Since illustrator is vector based it is ideal for designing print materials because once it is vectored it can do so many things. Plus when you plug your tablet in there are a bunch of cool tricks and stuff on illustrator. makes thing alot easier to trace if you scan something in etc. i wish i had a tablet.
