I am at college now and don't have access to an open heat source but I do have a microwave. I saw a few methods through a google search with stuff like microwave 30 seconds and then stir and keep doing that for a few minutes. I was wondering if anyone had tried it before and how it worked out and if anyone had any advice about doing it.
Thanks, GenuS

i heard using corn starch instead of wheat flour eliminates the need for a heat source. not sure if thats true or why it would be but thats what someone told me. im in college as well and i just got wallpaper paste. works really well.

i'm not sure if that will work correctly...cause basically what you are doing is making the flour and water turn into gluten, and the paste needs constant heat and constant stirring to help the water evaporate (reduce) and thus turn into a nice thick glue. You could try it and let us all know but really like Propertea said the best thing to do is go to Home Depot or something and grab a can of wallpaper glue. Just as durable (if not more in my opinion) and the stuff doesn't go bad. So you wont have to deal with the raunchy smell when the paste starts to turn.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look for wallpaper glue and that Teknabond stuff next time I'm at a hardware store.

i found out another great paste. this dude has alot of pastes up all over the city, i ran into him and asked him what he uses, he said Elmers glue and hot water in a windex bottle. 8oz of white elmers glue, mixed with hot water. its not exact recipe. i used 4oz with some water last night and tried it, it works amazing. at first it wouldnt spray, i switched the nozzle of the windex bottle for a diffrent one (another windez bottle) and it works. im psyched. no more brushes and buckets. if ya want to use a brush though it would obviously work. carry a 711 big gulp cup with the brush inside. way less obvious you are up to no good.

Great advice, UWP. It makes more sense than even carrying a soap bottle.
Maybe carry a rag along with you and pass off as a crazy guy cleaning up shit?

I've never pasted, so this is a novice question. Elmer's white glue is water washup, so wouldn't that mean it wouldn't hold up that well in weather? My logic says you would want to use something that isn't water soluble.

That golden harvest stuff in my opinion is the best

Come to think of it, I did a couple of pastes actually a long time ago and used Modge Podge. Its basically just a white glue that dries clear that's used for making collages. I'll have to check them to see how they have faired, if they haven't been buffed a long time ago.
