Post Office FAQ - Tricks & Tips Post anything related to your Country's Post Service whether it be a question or something the office employees wouldn't normally tell us, the customer. Make sure to mention WHAT service it is: USPS, Royal Mail, SAPO .etc
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I became broke after mailing stuff out at the post office lol, here are some things you may or may not know.... I think this should be a key thread so ppl can get tips and info on USPS
If you write " Do Not Bend" anywhere on your package or envelope it will cost you an additional 20 cents! so that's 60 damn cents or MORE for you to send out something simple!
I also just paid 24.00 in overnight costs for 1 damn item that only weighed 1.5 lbs and was being shipped within the USA! it was going to TX... so damn ridiculas!
so for what I sent out I paid a total of 27.00
and that was for 1 overnight 2 small envelopes and 1 small yellow envelope. jesus christo

Yeah I learned that the hard way.
They dont even really bend the stickers, just kinda lightly curve it.
Also whens the restriction on USPS label gonna get here? I ordered some 500 a while ago. I thought the apoclypse was coming.

my first order i got 50 and it took forever, my second order i got the full 500 and got it fast too. along with some boxes and evnvelopes... HERE is another tip, when using the yellow envelopes if you cover the metal brass bracket behind it, it for some reason will charge you less. I learn that the last time I walked in I had stickers on the back covering the brass part and they were a bit cheaper in cents... the one I didnt have covered costed me more in cents. The lady was like Im just letting you know it's cheaper to cover the brackets... she was like I dont know why it just is she was cool about the whole thing. Restrictions? I got two big packs of labels the same day in less than a week like I said... I heard october 2008 is when they will no longer be free. so im stocking up of envelopes and boxes of all kinds while it's free. I even got some of the old skool labels when I walked inthere the other day... the big feb 2006 brand.

overnighting anything is gonna castrate you or in your case stick a very sharp molten hot object in your vaggie. =(
almost as bad as priority global shipping.
i found if its a ton of stuff and weights too damn much, use the priority box. (whatever you can fit in it all for $5)

nano ... that is what I did use. it was a priorty box. but it was because I wanted to send it overnight (i had to) it costed me 24.00 because the priority box was (shoe box) size and that size not jsut weight but that size was what got me for overnight because they are different about the box size with overnights. (bastards) or else i would have used the 5.00 priority box. I can use a 5.00 small priority box and get a tracking number for 5.48 cents and that ships 2-3 days. ( i wish I could of but didnt have anything a bit more bigger for what I was sending)
*goes to order more lol

^ yeah you got to use their box sizes or that priority pouch in order to save money. if you use any old box and slap a priority sticker on it, they'll get you on weight.
i like how they ask you if you are shipping any chemicals or hazardous material. hahaa.... i just stand there and grin.
you should of used fedex or ups for that overnight. probably would of been cheaper?

Not sure... I didnt have the time to look into it. but 24.00 seems alot when the prices for overnight start at 12.50 !

Tyvek (TIE-veck) is a brand of flashspun high-density polyethylene fibers, a synthetic material; the name is a registered trademark of the DuPont Company. The material is very strong; it is difficult to tear but can easily be cut with scissors or any other sharp object. Water vapor can pass through Tyvek, but not liquid water, so the material lends itself to a variety of applications: medical packaging, envelopes, car covers, air and water intrusion barriers (housewrap) under house siding, labels, wristbands, mycology, and graphics. Tyvek is sometimes erroneously referred to as "Tyvex." and this USPS envelope is made of it: it free from the post office...but just REMEMBER to turn it inside out before you stick your stuff in it. this pack is good for large items like shirts and dead babies. if youre crafty, and cheap, you can cut it down to an appropriate size for your contents.

whats the best/cheapest way to ship t-shirts? i fold the t-shirt as tight as possible and put it into an 8x10 envelope. bosko had these small boxes but i belueve she had to roll the t-shirt. both were about $4, plus $1 more for tracking & confirmation code, to send. if the small box is USPS issued it ships faster.

take the clasp off of your envelopes before you send, it costs like $.30 more to send it the machines dont take them well and your pack might get fucked up :].
