Ive been wanting to discuss and dissect peoples characters. Talk about the pros and cons of certain peoples characters, what makes them great and what makes a character sucky.
Anyone wanna start?

yay. Ive been thinking about your character alot inky and this is partly why I created the thread. I found it amazing how entertained I can be by your character.
On the down side, it is kinda shapeless and limbless, much likes Safes. That right there sorta hurts the future chance of certain things going down, (like watches or shoes for the little guy) But Ive noticed that characters set up like yours have a fucking HUGE amount of facial expressions, which keep your stickers fresh and give them a huge amount of life to them. Take my robot for example. His facial expresssion are very limited, either cause Im retarded or he was drawn that way.

Thanks for the input man, although ive been rocking the char for an age now, i still see it as always changing, i dont know wether any of you lot notice it, but i probably do it by such little each time. I think for the shapelessness and limblessness (What awesome english) its cos im pretty lazy. If you notice, usually the dude comes from the corner of something which is partly me being boring and it limits the amount of him that you can see, right? But also i have to take into mind the amount of time i spend on making stickers, each one takes quite a while cos im a bit of a perfectionist, if its not clean ill usually chuck it in the bin, so adding other stuff would really boost the time. Which is why i only really 'accessorise' for collabs etc. I can see it developing into a whole new thing tho, ive been wanting to change it for a while, i guess ill have to slowly do or people will go, 'NO WE WANT DINO'ZZZ BACK' but yeah, i apreciate it homes. Me done. Now you ___________________________________________________________________________ I have to say to begin with that your bots with bodies are like 10 times better than the heads, i think the posture that it adds to the character really works, and expands the amount it can be changed. It also makes the thing alot more recognisable, which leads me onto the main point... With the lonely heads, like this... i do think its difficult to make out what it is on first impression, i think it might be as there are 2 parts to the head? Like the jaw and the top bit, the separation is a little confusing and i think the basis of it is a little offset. If it was drawn as one piece i think you could concentrate more on different eyes and that kinda thing? also expression? i unno. another thing which i think adds to the confusingness is the colour fills you do. The bot you did on that collab with me looked awesome, really defined and bold.. whereas the one above is kinda hypnotising and its dificult to see whats sposed to flow into each other. I like the patterns but i dont think they work so well as a replacement for a fill? How about you do a bold flat fill in a colour then some pattern work in a shade lighter or darker? Lots of words there >.< Dont mean to diss- if i come across like that.. its late and i have a headache :/ :]

inkjoy!! - i made you some collab set-ups in which youd need some arms to hold things and stuff but re-realised you were armless. throw some arms on them chumps once in awhile- or maybe not, ever thought about it or sketched some out? pirates dont have legs so do your thing man- me and wtf were talking about our characters before cause he doesnt have arms or legs so he has to use his teeth for alot of things.

not so much a character, butt matt's cat Floyd has become so iconic to me. it's become one of those 'corner of your eye' things that catch you.

Totally didnt see the inkjoy comment. Anyways....
My fills I know, are WHAX. I do it cause Im such a cheap skate that I dont want my markers to run out. As for the bodies on the trains, yeah I should probably do that, Ive done it a few times, but usually Im on a time limit and so those few extra seconds are shaved off.
I have troubles with getting my entire charac. lower section in. I just cant draw it. To this day he doesnt really have one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
gumb gumb gumb...
I remember you kept is basic and straight up a while back. Always did the yellow dudes. Which is great cause just like inky, you can buy one marker and use the shit out of it, and its way cheaper than buying four. Anyways....
I miss those guys, kinda like an old friend, the new stuff is good, but I dont feel a connection with it, proably cause you dont see (generally) the same stuff. But thats pure opinion, cause I know people love that, and I wish I could change it up. You do have a recognizable style, so that helps with your diversity.
Your old hoodie character though was amazing, because you could incoporate a variety of patterns, styles and colour variations on his jacket. He could also be done super simple and Im guessing quick by just making a hump and throwing a face on it, or you could just extrapalate and make that baby complicated as fuck.
I wants more of its.

Yeah I know gumb, I'm still working on it and soon there will be some ''cute'' work again. I still draw the cupcakes from time to time and I'm working on a baby version of the pirate. And it's just awesome if you get prismas becouse they're really good and I think you will enjoy them. About your stuff: I notice you do diffrent kinds of characters in the same style and I like it. The way your stuff looks with the brushes is very good man. Keep doing what you do becouse you're a dope artist with alot of variety.

INKJOY-your characters are sick, i like the fact that they are simple i think arms and legs would make him look weird instead of adding arms and legs why not try a longer tail or somethin? i like that you change them slightly each time you draw them making each one unique
CYBOT-i agree with ink alot on yours, your robot character is dope but the head is kinda confusing maybe try making it one piece instead of two, your robots have alot of movement in their bodies, the fills are sick but can be confusing, maybe try more solid colours, also i think it would be dope to see them more detailed with bolts and stuff
GUMB-i love your characters because they have alot of movement the faces you do are sick with lots of details why not try adding both together?
TASTY-i like the new stuff alot better than the old, your characters have a street style vibe to them, i agree with gumb too, you need some different ones aswell the new ones are dope but they all kinda look the same
somebody dissect my guy (ive been workin on him alot lately trying to perfect him, but im kinda in an artistic block)

GRat - You have a very cool character, your lines are pretty clean too but damn you are able to do alot more with it. You should try to put more colour in your works becouse I notice you almost only colour the tounge like CATV and I think you have alot more to give. Go for the ultimate. It doesnt matter if you draw the whole day on one slap and still don't get it finished. Like I said, the character is cool and the line work is dope but make some situations for him and throw some colour on him.

G.Rat you know Ive loved your charc. from the start. He just had such a fresh style, and its super dope seeing that shit on the streets.
You do have TONS of space for accessories and what not. Horns, claws, tails, tentacles, hats, glasses, colour variations, scars, pimples ect.
Its cool that you do him in white (saves you some paint for your decos) but yeah like tasty said, throw some colour on it, some colour forcefields or sumthin. --------------------------- Tasty-Ive noticed your new stuff is more face centered (meaning you are more focused on the face than body shape). I do that too, but try getting a solid body shape down and pimp it. The cupcakes were aite, but try playing with it more, or even just the shape. Exagerate and minimize aspects and see whats the best combo.
Inkjoy- a long tail might be sick Gumby- yeah make a detailed portrait of your little dude
